Freaky Friday

My watch is busy dying.  I think the steam-room did not agree with it too much because it is now full of water. I thought this watch could go down 50 ft in water, but I guess it cannot stand 20 minutes in a steam-room.

I went to lunch with F today and he still only needs to visit two more sites to complete the research for his book on the low spots in Utah. He was sitting carefully and not touching the backrest of the chair and this was not due to keeping a good posture.  He has had some surgery on his back a couple of days ago and is treating it gingerly. We were reminiscing about the old times in SA: cadets at school; living in Sunnyside; surfing all day in Durban; and the transition to this new place in the world.  I think we solved most of the worlds problems pretty efficiently.

Helped N carry Cs birthday present into the house, put it together and move it into place.  It is a side-board with a top consisting of glass doors and shelving.  It looks absolutely great in the lounge.  C made some nice stew from left-overs (tasty) and I brought over a pie that Kirstin sent over.  C is working hard at her PhotoShop class and had done some wuite amazing stuff as part of her work assignemtns. If you know what you are doing, you can create, recreate, change and fix almost anything. Her next assignment is to design a room full of furniture, etc using a particular theme.  She starts with nothing and can be totally creative. I would not know where to even start.

I'm totally peeved that you are having such a ball without your wife in the country! YOur daily activities sound joyous, plus you are wonderfully feted by the extended family -- meat pie, lamb, stew, what else is there? I have had the most wonderful time with M mostly to myself for longer periods than any time since elementary school. I think she's about ready to revert to her own adult life! And what a life -- I've had a tour of her friends, the latest today with K and her new boyfriend at the bird sanctuary and tonight with cousin V and her boyfriend at a fabulous pub in Hatfield. Tomorrow (weep, weep) it's off to Cape Town without M. See you and all of the blogger-commenters and those featured in the photos by the end of the month, and love to all.
